Samsung announces two new tabs: Galaxy tab S5e and Galaxy tab A10.1 - price, specifications and availability

The South Korean tech giant Samsung has added two new models to its tablets lineup  with names Galaxy tab A10.1 and Galaxy tab S5e. The Galaxy tab S5e is Samsung's thinnest tab with just 5.5mm thickness and sports a sleek metallic body and thin bezels resembling the Apple's latest iPad Pro. It comes with LTE connectivity and integrated DeX and features an AMOLED display. It will be made available from 2nd quarter of 2019. On the other hand, the Galaxy tab A10.1 is released only in the German Market for now.

Galaxy tab S5e - specifications, features, price and availability :

It comes in two variants - the base model of 4GB+64GB and the high-end variant of 6GB+128GB. These will have two models - the WiFi only model and the LTE model. The WiFi only tab will be launched in Q2 2019, while the LTE version will be released later. The WiFi only model will have a minimum price tag of $399.99. The price for LTE version is unknown for US market now. However, company's German website states that the LTE version's price start at EUR 479. The Galaxy tab S5e will be made available on Samsung's e-shop as well as major retailers. 

The Galaxy tab S5e features a 10.5 inches WQXGA (2560x1600 pixels) super AMOLED display with 16:10 aspect ratio. It has thin bezels which provides an 81.8 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 670 processor. The storage can be extended upto 512GB via a micro-SD card. It has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It also features four AKG speakers with Dolby Atoms support. It has a USB 3.1 type-C port and a pogo connector to use it with a keyboard that will be available separately. 

The software department consist of Android 9 pie out of the box with additional productivity features like Bixby 2.0, integrated DeX functionality, quick command and call and message continuity for communicating using the tablet itself. The device is powered by a 7,040 mAh battery with fast charge support. It has dimensions of 245 x 160 x 5.5 mm and weighs just 400 grams. It will have colour options of black, gold and silver.

Samsung has also announced an affordable tab alongwith S5e that offers a metallic build at relatively lesser price. It also has the WiFi only as well as LTE models. The WiFi only model is priced at EUR 210 while the LTE version is priced at EUR 270. It will be available in Germany starting from April 5, 2019. However, there is no official confirmation regarding its wider availability.

The Galaxy tab A10.1 will sport a 10.1 inches display with 1920x1200 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. It is powered by the Exynos 7904 SoC processor and will have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage capacity that is expandable upto 400GB through a micro-SD card. The camera department features an 8MP lens at back and a 5MP lens at front. It packs a 6,150 mAh battery. It has dual speakers with Dolby Atoms support and also have a pogo pin port for connecting an external keyboard.
