Huawei's "Mate X" foldable phone poster leaks
Recently, Samsung launched its foldable device 'Galaxy Fold' at its Galaxy unpacked 2019 event. And now, the race is on for next tech giant to unveil its foldable phone in the market. Huawei seems to be the most likely candidate that will reveal its foldable device at MWC 2019.
A photo was posted on Twitter by @gimme2pm showing a display banner which contained a Foldable Huawei device. A couple of workers can be seen with some scaffolding blocking the poster, but everything displayed on the banner can be seen quite easily.
The banner shows a Foldable phone opened and then halfway closed before showing it totally folded. The scaffolding blocks the first line of the banner but the second line can be seen which reads : "world's first 5G foldable phone" with words Huawei Mate X at the bottom, which seems to be the name of this device.
The design is somehow different from Samsung's Galaxy Fold. While the Galaxy Fold has an exterior display and then the main interior one that folds closed, the Huawei Mate X has a single display that wraps around the exterior of the phone. So, when closed, one would only be using a section of the foldable display.
We can expect a high-end camera in the Mate X as well. Huawei's press event will be held on February 24 at 2 pm local time in Barcelona, Spain where we might see the launch of this phone.
Huawei may also share its 5G vision at this event and may launch some other consumer products as well. However, we will not be seeing anything about Huawei P30, as the company has already announced its launch-date in late March in Paris.
