Air Force has made an agreement with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for manned missions to space. The information was shared by the Indian Air Force on Twitter on Wednesday evening. Under Mission Gaganyan, ISRO will send three Indians to space during 2021-22. ISRO and Air Force will select these three astronauts and train them.

In presence of ISRO chief K Sivan, Air Force Air Vice-Marshal RGK Kapoor and the Director of Gaganayan Mission R Hutton signed MoU on Tuesday. Siwan said that under the Mission GaganYaan, first two unmanned aircrafts will be sent through GSLV Mk III in 2022. After this, three Indians will be sent in space for seven days. If this mission is successful then India will become the fourth country in the world to do so. Earlier Russia, the US and China have sent humans to space.
Modi cabinet had approved Rs 10 thousand crore for the mission:
The Modi government had approved the country's first human space flight program (Mission Gaganyaan) on December 28, 2018. In the Cabinet meeting, it had sanctioned 10 thousand crores rupees for this mission. 9023 crores will be spent to complete the mission.
