Is our universe a black hole itself?

Are we living inside a black hole? Is the entire cosmos which we often refer to as universe, is itself situated within a black hole? What if the answer to these questions are yes. Well, this might sound crazy, but it is a real possibility.

The theory that every black hole can contain an entire universe within itself, may sound impossible at first. But, it can explain the origin of our own universe. We know that, according to the Big Bang theory (the most widely accepted theory of beginning of the universe), everything started from an infinitely small, hot and dense one dimensional point, called singularity. This point expanded at an enormous rate within just a fraction of seconds, and everything we know of, came into existence. But, what did it expanded into, if there was no space at that point of time? Did it expand into some other larger universe, which was a black hole itself, and this point, the singularity, was the center of that bigger universe or black hole per se. Now, you might start to believe that this theory has a very high chances of being true.

The universe still continues to expand even today. Hence, it resembles the structure and formation of a black hole. We all know that a black hole is formed when a huge star (atleast the size thrice that of our sun), starts to collapse in its own gravity when it consumes all of its hydrogen fuel. Due to this, a stage is reached when it gets concentrated within a very small region (an area almost the size of Manhattan, NY). This makes it almost infinitely dense, whose gravity is so huge that even the fastest thing light can't escape from it.

After a black hole is formed, all of its mass gets concentrated within an infinitely dense one-dimensional point at its center, which we call singularity. So, is it just a coincidence, that our universe was also formed out of a singularity, or is there an interconnection between the two, or are they even the exact same thing?

Furthermore, every black hole has its boundary called event horizon, and anything that once enters this boundary, never comes out of it.

The black hole keeps pulling the matter from outside its surroundings and keeps growing and expanding. Isn't this expansion similar to the expansion of universe? Just like a black hole, our universe could be expanding because it may be pulling the matter from outside. So, literally, we may be living inside a black hole!

This crazy idea creates an image of the entire cosmos which is beyond our imagination. And if this idea is proved to be right, then it would mean that there is no beginning or end, because it creates a picture of a multiverse that is perpetual. There are uncountable number of black holes within our own universe which itself could be a black hole, and other universes can also be present out of our own. These universes, in turn, may be situated within some other larger black hole, and so on!
Similarly, every black hole within our universe can be an entire universe itself, and may contain infinite number of black holes or universes.

Time becomes relative in this context as there should be existence of other universes before the big bang (the beginning of our universe). And hence, there can be an infinite number of such events, which may be happening at a multiverse level even now.

Moreover, the very concept of three-dimensional or four-dimensional spacetime, or even ten or eleven dimensions (according to the string theory), could be wrong. Our universe, which is assumed to be a three-dimensional space, may be born out of a four-dimensional black hole, which in turn, may be born out of a five-dimensional black hole, and so on..! Also, if we zoom out in this manner, then we would reach at places with zero, or even negative dimensions which seems impossible to even imagine!! Hence, there is no limit to the number, or even sign of the dimensions. And in this manner, Time can also be negative, means it is possible to go even before the big bang, which however, is beyond our reach with the technology we have right now.

This can also have some connection with the dark fluid theory, put recently by Jamie Farnes, which suggests that matter can have negative mass as well as repulsive gravity.

This can be an endeavour towards the unification of all the theories, a theory which is popularly known as the theory of everything. However, right now, it seems impossible to explain with our current understanding of universe, which we explain through laws of physics, which limits us to our own universe. So, it is quite certain that we will have to create an entirely different set of rules and laws, through which everything could be easily understood on a larger scale. And everything that seems impossible right now, would then have a simple aesthetic solution.

So, in a nutshell, what defies our laws of physics, are said to be unreal, but necessarily they aren't. We humans always have found explanation to everything we know of, which earlier used to be known as miracles. But someday, technology would evolve so much, that we would be able to explain such impossible things easily. Only time would tell!!
