Amazon Pay UPI launched for Android
Amazon has launched Amazon Pay UPI for android users. The company has partnered with Axis Bank to issue UPI IDs to its customers. The feature is added in the Amazon mobile app which allows the customers to link their bank account on the mobile app of Amazon and make secure, fast and easy transactions directly from their bank account.
Customers can easily make payments using their Amazon Pay UPI ID to shop on Amazon.in without entering their bank details and credentials, which is a multi-layered process and is usually quite hectic, lengthy and time consuming. On the other hand, this new feature is very convenient and each transaction only requires mobile verification and UPI PIN. According to Amazon, the aim is to enable the customers in adopting BHIM UPI for digital transactions. Amazon will bring additional features in future to further simplify the customer experience.
To use Amazon Pay UPI to shop on Amazon, simply login to your Amazon android app, and choose UPI as your payment method. Follow these steps to register for UPI through Amazon:
1. Open the Amazon.in mobile app, and select the Amazon Pay option. This will open the Amazon Pay dashboard.
2. Tap Payment options. Now, on the Manage payment options page, tap Manage bank account to add a new bank account.
3. Tap Bank account linked to UPI. Choose a bank account from the list. (Only Indian saving bank accounts are available in the list).
4. Now, you will be asked to select the SIM that is associated with your bank account. Select the SIM that is linked to your bank account.
5. Tap Verify your mobile number. You will be asked to allow Amazon to send an SMS and read it for verification.
6. After the verification, your bank account details with the bank name will be securely received by Amazon. Tap Link bank account.
7. Now you will need to verify your debit card details by entering the last 6 digits of your card number and its expiry date.
8. After this, tap Set your UPI PIN, and follow the instructions. If you already have a UPI PIN, you will need to enter it. If you forgot your PIN, tap Forgot UPI PIN? Click here, and follow the instructions.
Once, you have registered on Amazon Pay UPI, you will be able to make fast and secure payments easily without entering all the bank details every time.
