Several leaks on the Internet reveal that Nvidia is soon going to launch a new mid-range card with the current Turing architecture of RTX-20 series, but without ray Tracing feature, so as to make it suitable for low budget buyers. Rumours have been going on for last several months, but a couple of recent images leaked online gives a concrete evidence, that a card in the gtx series with the name gtx 1660ti is going to be launched by nvidia very soon.

The two leaked images include one showing an alleged benchmark score of 1660ti. Another image is of nvidia's industry event in China where company's manufacturing partners are reported to be briefed about the new model. In the image, it can be seen that a card is shown on the screen which somewhat looks like a dual-fan founder edition RTX-20 series card, but with a tag "gtx 166" (rest is cut off due to cropping of the image). A couple of other texts also appear on the left part of the same slide. These texts say "one more thing" and "new gtx Turing".

These renders have spread all over twitter and reddit but are still unverified, and there is no official announcement from the company's end regarding this.

However, the model name contradicts the previously rumoured gtx-11 series, and doesn't fit in any of the lineups currently provided by nvidia, but it may be possible that the gtx-11 series itself will be given this new name. The name GTX 1660ti first came into news when nvidia CEO Jen Hsun Huang unveiled the RTX-2060 at CES 2019 press conference. Nvidia is soon going to phase out the gtx-10 series and it is highly unlikely that it will bring any higher end version of the RTX-20 series. This gives a strong ground to a card like 1660ti to be soon launched.

The benchmark score leaked online shows that the gtx 1660ti has a 20% performance improvement over the gtx 1060. It has the same Turing architecture as that in the RTX series and possibly a CUDA core count of 1536. It may be paired with a GDDR6 memory. On the other hand, a non ti version is also said to be launched, i.e. gtx 1660 and will be available in two memory variants - a 3GB GDDR5 and a 6GB GDDR5X. These will have a 1280 CUDA core count. The ti version is said to be priced at CNY 2399 (Rs.25,199 without taxes). This puts it at the same price level as that of the 6GB version of gtx 1060.
