Nike Adapt smart shoes - The future of footware is here
The sportswear brand Nike has launched a new concept shoe at an event on Tuesday named "future of footwear". This new sneaker is known as the Nike adapt, and is actually the future of footwear in many aspects. Company is starting this concept with basketball shoes called Adapt BB (short for basketball), which would cost $350 or roughly ₹25,000.
The shoe adjusts and self-tightens with athlete's preference and it has no laces. The Bluetooth enabled shoe would be adjustable through a mobile app. It has sensors, accelerometers and gyroscope, that would provide every information about the fully personalised experience of the user, to this smart shoe. It will need charging every two weeks.

Nike had launched auto-lacing shoes earlier in 2017, with a limited number of low-top sneakers for $720, which has been their most expensive shoes ever released. The Adapt BB will be available at Nike's direct channels as well as through retailers. These will debut in NBA on the feet of Boston Celtics forward Jason Tatum.
The shoe technology can also be updated via app, means its capabilities can be upgraded even after purchasing. The company is also planning to implement the adapt technology in other products like running shoes, sports wear and lifestyle items.
