Microsoft Surface Pro 6, Surface Laptop 2 Launched in India - price, specifications and availability

Microsoft has launched its two new products in India - surface Pro 6 and surface laptop 2. The first one is a hybrid tablet with a detachable keyboard while the second one is a touchscreen notebook.

The surface Pro 6 closely resembles its predecessor with a 165 degree kickstand and the same high quality magnesium body. So there's nothing much changed in design. However, a lot has changed in the specifications department. The new tab comes with Intel's 8th gen processor and a battery backup of upto 13.5hrs. It has a 12.3" screen with Windows 10 running out-of-the-box. Its price starts at Rs. 83,999. This variant has Intel's 8th gen core i5 CPU with 8GB RAM and an SSD storage of 128GB. The top end variant has an 8th gen core i7 processor with 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage, and is priced at Rs. 1,76,999. This top end model is exclusively available in offline market, whereas other models are available via both offline as well online channels. There are other two variants also - both with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage. However, one of these two variants has an i5 processor and the 2nd one has an i7 processor. The two models are priced at Rs. 1,10,999 and Rs. 1,39,999 respectively. Unfortunately, these prices don't include the cost of keyboard. With these devices, Microsoft aims to compete with Apple's 2018 version of iPad Pro.

On the other hand, Microsoft also has released surface book 2 as a successor of the original surface book released last year. The screen remains identical at 13.5" but the CPU is Intel's 8th gen. The company claims that it has a 14.5hrs battery backup. The new notebook is expected to compete the Macbook air and Macbook Pro. Price starts with the base variant at Rs. 91,999 which has an 8th gen intel i5 processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD storage. The 2nd model has same specs with 256GB storage and is priced at Rs. 1,19,999. The third variant has an 8GB RAM, 256GB storage and core i7 processor, but is exclusively available in offline market. The top model comes with an core i7 processor, 16GB RAM and 512GB of SSD storage, and is priced at Rs. 2,03,999.

Both surface Pro 6 and surface laptop 2 were launched on 28th January and are available online at Amazon.in and Flipkart, and select retail stores like Croma, Reliance, Vijay sales and others.
