NASA’s Hubble finds water vapour on habitable-zone exoplanet for first time
- This planet is about 110 light years away from Earth
- According to scientists, the temperature of this planet is absolutely right to sustain life.
For the first time, scientists have discovered a planet where life can be found just like Earth. There is a possibility that liquid water could exist on this planet found in the outer part of our solar system. According to science, if this thing comes true then it will prove to be the biggest discovery ever. Scientists are calling this new planet 'Super Earth'. This planet is about 110 light years away from Earth. According to scientists, it is named super earth because it is two times larger than Earth and about eight times bigger than Mars. In scientific language, this new planet is called K2-18b.
According to scientists at College London University, the temperature of this planet is absolutely right for life to flourish. And it is also located close to its star. This would mean that it orbits its star in 33 days and our earth takes 365 days to do the same thing. This is due to its proximity to its star whereas our star sun is far away from the earth. This means its years will be shorter.
This super earth was discovered by NASA's Kepler spacecraft in the year 2015. But the data that has been received recently is staggering. The temperature, atmosphere and water of this planet are all likely to be correct for speculation that there may be life here. Due to the presence of water vapor in the atmosphere of the planet, it shows that there may be rock and ice.
