Earlier also, Google has removed many apps made by Chinese developers. These dangerous apps include selfie, security and antivirus, keyboard, horoscope, emojis and health-related apps.
Google has removed about 46 apps from the Play Store last week. According to the news published on Buzzfeed, all these 46 apps have been created by a Chinese developer named iHandy. No reason was cited by Google when deleting these applications. But now during a conversation with Buzzfeed, Google said that these apps used to show users misleading advertisements.
This is not the first time Google has removed applications made by Chinese developers. According to a Buzzfeed report, deleted apps include selfie, security and antivirus, keyboards, horoscopes, emojis and health-related apps.
A popular app called Sweet Camera, Selfie Beauty Camera, Filter, which was downloaded 50 million times, has also been removed from the Play Store by Google. There are 8 apps of this Chinese developer still on the play store.
Simon Zhu, vice president of iHandy, spoke to Buzzfeed saying that he is in touch with Google about this. Describing the action as unpredictable, Zhu said that the company was trying to find the reasons for removing these apps from Google.
Earlier in August this year, Google removed 85 apps from the Play Store. In these apps, Google had found hidden adware. Among those apps, research firm Trend Micro (which spotlighted Adware) said that most of them were photography as well as gaming apps, which were downloaded more than 8 million times.
