AMD Radeon VII - world's first 7nm GPU: specifications and price

AMD has officially launched its latest flagship GPU globally. The Radeon VII is claimed to be the world’s first 7nm-architecture based consumer GPU. At the top of the company's high-end Radeon GPU lineup, it is likely to supersede the Radeon Vega 4. This new product is not just targeted for gamers and enthusiasts but also for content creators, VR and video industry. The company promises an excellent performance gaming experience in 4K, 1440p and 1080p HDR. It is claimed to have a 29% performance increase with respect to the Radeon Vega 4.
It is already made available for purchase worldwide with a price tag of $699 in US and Rs. 54,990 in India. It is also offering these three games absolutely for free : The Division 2, Resident Evil 2 and Devil may cry 5. All the cards sold for now have AMD's reference design, which features triple fans for the first time. Non of the manufacturing partners has yet announced about their own custom designs for this product.

Specifications:
Radeon VII has 3840 execution units or stream processors - as called by the company. It has a base clock speed of 1400 MHz with a maximum overclocked speed of 1750MHz. The total performance bandwidth of the card is rated at 13.8 Teraflops. The GPU is designed on a refreshed Vega architecture with 7nm process.
It has a 16GB high-bandwidth 3D-stacked HBM2 memory, which is connected using a 4,096 bit-bus for a total memory bandwidth of 1 TBps. This is 2.1x the memory bandwidth of Radeon Vega 4.
According to AMD, the latest AAA games like Farcry 5, Metro Exodus, Call of duty - black ops 4, etc. demand 8GB of memory while playing at 4K with all settings maxed-out. Similar is the case with softwares like Adobe Premier while editing 4K or 8K videos. It has all the AMD's software features support like FreeSync 2, Radeon chill, performance tweaking with Radeon WattMan and video stream capturing with Radeon ReLive. The card has a TDP rating of 300W.

Radeon VII will go head-to-head with Nvidia's GeForce RTX-2080. However, the company doesn't claim to compete with more powerful GeForce RTX-2080 Ti, which means that the company doesn't plan to lead the overall GPU market for now, even with this flagship launch.
