Reliance Jio has launched a new Jio Rail App for Jio phone and Jio phone 2, similar to the IRCTC app for smartphones. This app will allow users to book railway tickets online through their Jio feature phones. One can easily book or cancel train tickets, check their PNR status, train information, seat availability, timings and routes, just on the tap of a button. The app allows to book online tickets by accepting credit cards, debit cards and e-wallets. Further, if the user don't already have an existing account in IRCTC, they can create an account too, via this app. The telco also has revealed that it is planning to add other features like PNR status change alerts, locate a train and ordering food during the journey. The app is available for download at the Jiostore app provided in these phones.
Reliance Jio added the much awaited WhatsApp and Youtube native apps for its feature phones last year. And adding another app to its list like this one, signifies that the company is working continuously to make all the necessary apps available for its feature phones, which are exclusive to only smartphones. This is a great effort towards making the country digital.
Jio has been dominating the feature phone market as well as the overall handset market, for the last couple of years- thanks to its Jio phone and Jio phone 2.
