India's Chandryaan-2 will also carry a NASA's equipment among thirteen payloads

ISRO has not confirmed the purpose of this NASA equipment. The weight of this spacecraft is 3.8 tons. The vehicle has three modules (specific parts) - orbiter, lander (Vikram) and rover (pragyan).

Indian Space Research Organization said that the second moon mission of India (Chandrayaan 2) to be launched in July will carry 13 payloads and one of these will be an equipment of the American space agency NASA. In a statement, ISRO shared the information regarding Chandryaan-2 Mission, "13 Indian Payloads (eight on Orbiter, three on Lander and two Payloads on Rover and a 'Passive Experiment tool' from NASA)."

However, ISRO has not clarified the purpose of this NASA device. The weight of this spacecraft is 3.8 tons. There are three modules (specific parts) orbiter, lander (Vikram) and rover (pragyan) in the vehicle.

The space agency said earlier this month that all modules are being prepared to be sent to Chandrayaan-2 during July 9 to 16, 2019. Chandrayaan-2 is expected to land on the moon on September 6. The orbiter will orbit the moon at a distance of 100 kilometers from its surface, while Lander (Vikram) will easily land on the Moon's southern pole and Rover (Pragyan) will perform some experiments at its location.

According to ISRO, GSLV MK-III launch vehicle will be used in this mission. ISRO said that the rover will carry out scientific research on the surface of the moon. Lander and Orbiter are also equipped with tools for the research purpose.

ISRO's chairman K. Sivan had said in January, "We are going to land at the place where no one has arrived - that is, on the Moon's southern pole. This area has not been explored so far." Chandrayaan - 2 is the advanced version of the previous Chandrayaan-1 mission. Chandrayaan - 1 mission was carried out 10 years ago.
